The Tuvalu Fisheries Department (TFD), under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and with funding from the Government of New Zealand through the Tuvalu Fisheries Support Programme Phase 2 (TFSP2), invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced consultants for the following assignments:
1. Dive Trainer
TFD seeks the services of a certified PADI Dive Trainer to conduct an open water diving course for newly recruited Fisheries staff. The consultant will also be responsible for providing training on the fundamental maintenance of SCUBA diving equipment.
- Duration: Approximately 12 working days
- Location: Tuvalu
- Expected Commencement: June 2025
2. Fishing Master
TFD requires a highly experienced Fishing Master to lead a trial seamount fishing project in Tuvalu. The consultant will also provide expert recommendations on the design and equipment specifications for a new exploratory fishing vessel intended for tuna and deep-water bottom fishing.
- Duration: Initial engagement of approximately 25 working days, commencing May 2025. A second 25-day visit may be scheduled later in the year, subject to progress and requirements.

3. Communication Skills Trainer
TFD seeks an expert trainer in verbal and written communication skills in English to conduct a capacity-building program tailored for senior Fisheries staff.
- Duration: 5 working days
- Location: Tuvalu
- Expected Commencement: June or July 2025
- Delivery Mode: In-person training (remote or virtual training will not be considered)
