The Government of Tuvalu has released the Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) for the Pacific Islands Regional Oceanscape Program – Second Phase for Economic Resilience (Tuvalu PROPER), Project No. P179599.
The ESCP outlines the environmental and social commitments, measures, responsibilities, monitoring and reporting arrangements that will guide implementation of the Project. It also covers areas including environmental and social risk management, labour and working conditions, community health and safety, biodiversity conservation, stakeholder engagement, information disclosure and grievance mechanisms.
The Project will be implemented by the Government of Tuvalu with the involvement of the Tuvalu Fisheries Authority (TFA) and financing from the International Development Association (World Bank).
