Environmental and Social Management Plan – Tuvalu PROPER

The Tuvalu Fisheries Authority (TFA), together with the Central Project Management Office (CPMO) of the Ministry of Finance, has prepared the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for the Pacific Islands Regional Oceanscape Program – Second Phase for Economic Resilience (PROPER) Project (P179599).

The ESMP provides a framework for identifying, managing and monitoring the environmental and social risks and impacts associated with the Project, in accordance with Tuvalu’s national regulations and the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework.

The Project aims to strengthen regional collaboration and national capacity for the management and sustainable development of Tuvalu’s oceanic and coastal fisheries sector, with activities covering fisheries management, coastal fisheries, infrastructure, research, training and capacity building.
